District 96 is located in Chicago's western suburbs and offers competitive salaries and exceptional benefits. District 96 has easy access to the Chicago metropolitan area and is minutes away from the Eisenhower (I-290) and Stevenson (I-55) expressways. The Burlington Metra train is also a short walk away from several of our schools.
District 96 has four Elementary Schools and one Junior High that serves approximately, 1700 students. The District serves the communities of Riverside, the east side of North Riverside and portions of Brookfield and Lyons. It covers an area of approximately four square miles. It is bounded on the east by Harlem Avenue, on the south by 39th Street and Ogden Avenue, on the west by Salt Creek, and on the north by 22nd Street (Cermak Road). The District’s northwest boundary is defined by First Avenue and 26th Street (west of First Avenue).
All teacher candidates are required to complete a quick questionnaire as a part of the application process. The questionnaire will help district personnel best match candidates and their qualifications to vacancies in the district. The questionnaire must be completed before an interview can be scheduled.
District 96 principals and supervisors will review the applications and contact the candidates directly for an interview.
Prior to starting employment in District 96, you must submit to a state and federal background check, physical, TB test and other additional employment paperwork. Once the paperwork is complete a start date will be determined.
